At Tongji University, at least the following academic achievements must be completed in 3 semesters:
- Partial achievements for the second specialization to be chosen (either (a) Engine and Drive Technology or (b) Automotive Engineering and Safety) amounting to 15 ECTS credits
- Master project (in the scope of 20 ECTS credits)
- Master's thesis (corresponding to 30 ECTS credits)
- In addition, 7 ECTS credits must be earned in the free subject
For students at Graz University of Technology, the double degree program is structured as follows, based on §4 of the curriculum of the TU Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, with 132 ECTS credits:
At least the following academic achievements must be completed at Graz University of Technology:
- The compulsory subject Fundamentals to the extent of 15 ECTS credits,
- One of the five subject-specific specializations according to §4 consisting of 25 ECTS credits compulsory subject and 10 ECTS credits optional subject,
- Courses from the catalogs of all compulsory and optional subjects of Graz University of Technology in the scope of 10 ECTS credits, which are assigned to the optional subject.

A Double Degree Programme for Mechanical Engineering-Master’s Programme is developed together with Graz University of Technology and the Tongji University (China). At the end of your programme, both universities award a commonly recognized degree.
The Double Degree Programme is a programme offered between Graz University of Technology and the Tongji University (China), whereby the student pursues a parallel programme at both academic institutions and is awarded 2 academic degrees. The student is generally enrolled at a university in a degree programme and, during the course of this programme, completes a second degree programme in the same or a similar subject at the partner university. The second degree is usually completed during a semester abroad at the partner university. Both universities mutually recognize the coursework, and each award an academic degree.
